What is Awana?
Awana is an acronym that stands for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed", based on the Bible verse found in 2 Timothy 2:15. Awana is a Bible-based ministry for children.
When is Awana?
Awana meets on Wednesday evenings, starting September 8, 2010, and ending May 11, 2011. Check-in begins at 5:50 p.m. each Wednesday evening, and Awana is over promptly at 7:30 p.m.
Where is Awana?
Awana meets in the Family Life Center located at First Baptist Church in Bellville at 504 E. Strauss Street.
Who is Awana for?
ALL children ages 3 years (as of 9/1/10) through 5th grade have a place in Awana. Awana is a NON-DENOMINATIONAL program, open to ALL children. Your family does not need to attend a church in order for your children to attend Awana (a frequently asked question).
What can I expect on a typical Wednesday night in Awana?
Children in kindergarten through 5th grade each week will have a time when truths from the Bible are taught, a time when a leader will help them with Scripture memory, and a time when they will play organized games outside. Preschoolers will have a Bible story, crafts, snack and a playtime each week.
