Hello and welcome to FBC's Bible Fellowship Groups (BFG's). BFG's are the way First Baptist comes together in a group setting for the sake of knowing each other well. It is the hope of First Baptist that all people attending our services will find an BFG to be a part of. We believe that these classes will help our church fulfill biblical expectations.

Purpose of BFG's:

Elements of Biblical Community

These elements are what we believe the Bible teaches as essential for true biblical community, and serve at the foundation for each of our Bible Fellowship Groups.

The Elements:

1. Exhortation: Acts 2: 42

Exhortation is encouraging the application of God's word by the explanation of biblical truths.

(2 Timothy:3:16)

2. Edification: Acts 2: 44-46

Edification is regularly engaging one another on a more personal level by meeting spiritual, emotional, and physical needs.

(Hebrews 10:24-25 - Romans 12:15)

3. Exaltation: Acts 2: 42-43, 46-47

Exaltation is calling attention to the glory of God through corporate prayer and *praise.

* Song, Deed, and Testimony are all aspects of praise-

(1Corinthians 10: 31)

4. Evangelization: Acts 2: 47

Evangelization is demonstrating the life changing message of the gospel through *community interaction.

*interaction with the community of faith and interaction with the community at large-

(John 17:21-23 - Acts 1:8 - Matthew 28:18-20)
