Pastor Training

Ezelle family

Cohen and Amie Ezelle have recently moved from Alabama to Belize with their children Samuel (5), Iva (4), Levi (2), and Nathanael (8 months). Their ministry is to begin the training of local pastors and church leaders. Please continue to be updated on their ministry at www.GOezelle.com

Cohen graduated in 2006 from Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, Alabama and from there attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. It was at seminary that the Lord put on his heart to seek a mission ministry. He is currently working on his Master's degree, but taking his courses on-line and while on furlough. Before coming to Belize, he worked six months support raising and studied one year at the Spanish Language Institute in San Jose, Costa Rica, learning Spanish.

With God's help Cohen is currently professor to ten students taking them through a two-three year Bible training. This training is open to anyone from any denomination and includes both men and women. There is a Pastoral track for the men and a Church Leader track for the women. Pastors will be taken through 10 different courses and Church Leaders eight. Both tracks are basically the same classes with a few variances and the exception of Course #4 for Pastors which is called "Preaching Biblical Messages" and for the women "Communicating Biblical Messages".  Other than that, pastors and church leaders are in class together for most of the training.

Upon completing all ten courses (eight for the women) the students will receive a certificate and there are plans to have a small graduation ceremony. Most of these pastors and church leaders will not receive Bible training like this without the training center.

Here are the ten courses that make up the two to three years of training: Bible Study Methods; Old Testament Survey; New Testament Survey; Preaching Biblical Messages; (Communicating Biblical Messages for the women);  Bible Doctrine Survey; Personal Spiritual Life; Church Ministry/Education; Teaching Principles/Methods (optional for the women); Church History (optional for the women); and Missions, Evangelism, and Discipleship.

The curriculum Cohen uses is put out by the Bible Training Center for Pastors and Church Leaders www.bibletraining.com.

The students are studying Course #2 Old Testament Survey, and have just recently completed the books of the Law (Genesis - Deuteronomy). They are currently going through the books of history (Joshua - Esther).

They study in a rented building in Punta Gorda, Belize, and are anxious to attend the new training facility and be the first class to graduate.

Please pray for these pastors and church leaders. Belize needs people who will stand up for, and stand on, the truth of the word of God.
