Missions Focus Page

The Mission/Evangelism Team will be sharing monthly opportunities to serve the Lord in the Mission Field. Church members are asked to lift these organizations or missionaries in prayer and perhaps send cards, volunteer, or send supplies as they feel led. This focus will also be featured in the Sunday morning service and information will be distributed in the bulletin and newsletter. These efforts are to serve as a reminder of the great commission our Father gave us in Matthew 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the
Holy Spirit."

JANUARY MISSIONS FOCUS (INTERNATIONAL)

Bob & Rhonda Farley -- Missionaries in Belize

Contact Information
Bob and Rhonda Farley
P. O. Box 90
Punta Gorda, Toledo District
Belize

Note: The church is planning a mission trip scheduled for early August to work with the Farleys.

Bob, Rhonda, Meredith and Hannah Farley have been independent missionaries to Southern Belize for the past nine years. Their support comes from churches and individuals the Lord has led their way. They feel their service is one of faith and have allowed the Lord to guide their paths.
In February, 2006, the Farleys joined the mission sending organization, "Global Outreach International" ( www.globaloutreach.org ) based in Tupelo, MS. This group provides support through partnerships of home churches and field service.

In Belize, Bob serves alongside local pastors in the Spanish/Kekchi and Garifuna people groups, helping with outreach, Bible studies, and church planting. In addition, the Farleys serve as school managers for Living Word Primary School in Boom Creek Villate. This school is a private Christian school in a Spanish/Kekchi village of about 100 people. This year there are 40 students in grades K-6 with four Belizean teachers. Their daughter, Hannah, is now a fifth grader there. The
family's responsibilities include raising funds for the operation of the school and the daily organization and management.

The Farleys have a vision for a Children's Disabilities Center and Pastoral Training Center to be built and maintained as a Global Outreach Ministry in the near future. They are hoping to start construction of the Training Center soon. The Farleys eldest daughter, Meredith, currently attends college in the states.

While the Farleys have no immediate needs, they can always use HP60 (black and color) print cartridges.

In addition, they always welcome unexpected "treats" from the state.

March Mission Focus (National)

Families on Mission

Family vacations are a great way for families to detach from the normal routine of life and bond together through special activities. There may be no better way to do this than through doing misisons as a family. The North American Mission has created opportunities for families to do just that through Families on Mission.

If you are interested in more information such as dates and locations, click here to visit their website.

Here is brief summary of Families on Mission...

"Families on Mission is a pre-packaged, week-long (Saturday through Thursday) family mission opportunity that allows mom, dad, and grandparents to model an on-mission lifestyle for their children and grandchildren. Parents and grandparents have the unique privilege to be "hands on" as they guide their family through devotions, missions awareness, mission projects, worship, family small-group discussions, and interaction with resident missionaries and the community. Mission activities include acts of kindness and other evangelism events, light construction and painting, yard work, prayer walking, Vacation Bible School, sports camps, block parties, and others. Children must have completed kindergarten in order to participate."

April Mission Focus (International)

Agape Gospel Mission

Agape Gospel Mission is an international ministry reaching the world with God's Love by evangelizing the lost, empowering the Church, and embracing the poor.

Below is a recent newsletter from the ministry.

Dear Praying Friends,

Last month Donna and I celebrated 26 years in Africa - and it's just as exciting, challenging, and rewarding as ever! In fact, the last few months have been some of the most wonderful times we've spent on the mission field. Our love for God is growing, our zeal for the lost is strong, and we count it a privilege to give our all for Jesus. Here are some highlights on how we're serving Him:

Rick

RickAfter 14 years out of pastoral ministry, I'm back pastoring a church - and I love it! God led me to launch Agape House New Testament Church in September 2007, and the church has grown rapidly right from the start. On March 1st we had over 500 in attendance! It's not easy juggling the church plus my regular work overseeing the ministry, but I love preaching every week and seeing our people grow spiritually and numerically. We're targeting the nearby university campuses, as well as the upscale community of East Legon. Visit our church website at www.agapehouseghana.org. Better yet, come visit us in person and catch the Spirit!

Donna

DonnaWith Rick launching and growing a dynamic new church, I've taken over many of his administrative duties at the AGM headquarters office in Accra. I really enjoy working with our Ghanaian staff organizing activities and helping things to run efficiently. I'm still very involved at the Children's Home and Academy, and love to love my children there as often as I can. Rick's Mom just spent three months with us here, and we had a great time with her. LaDonna (23 - our oldest daughter) joined us last year and is teaching eighth and tenth grades at our Agape Academy. It's been great to have her back home and helping in the ministry! Richard (21 - our second oldest) is coming for a two month visit later in March - I can hardly wait for all eight of us to be together in Africa again!

John Paul

JohnI just turned 11 years old and I'm in fifth grade. God has blessed me with so many friends from the Agape Children's Home. The nine boys in my class at Agape Academy are helping me learn Twi, one of Ghana's native languages. They're also teaching me local games. The boys at the Home feel like my real brothers. I am a big Black Stars fan - that's the Ghana national football team (soccer to Americans). CHOO BOI! Let's go Black Stars!

Annabelle

Annabelle

I love being in the Agape Academy eighth grade. It's given me the opportunity to get to know everyone at the Home and I've made great friends. I also enjoy our church youth group, called Hearts Aflame. We meet on Thursdays every week for games, movies, Bible study and discussion. I think it is so great that God allowed us to start Hearts Aflame which has been a blessing to people.

Sarah

God has given me countless opportunities for growth and service. I am currently facilitating classroom activities for the fifth grade at our Academy in the morning, and completing twelfth grade in the afternoon. On weekends, I assist in our church and Sunday school. Being so busy can be challenging, but God is using every circumstance to help me grow in grace and strength. With every chair I set up at church and each division problem I explain at school God fills my life with love and laughter.

Sheila

3 Girls

My senior year has been so much fun! I continue to sing on the praise team at church, and I love that ministry. Twice a week I teach music and art at our Academy. I love this time interacting with the children. It's hard to believe that in a few short months I'll be leaving home for college. I have been accepted at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. I'll miss Ghana, but I'm excited about my future, too.

.

Closing Message

Thank you so much for your prayers and support for our family as we serve on the front lines for the Lord here in West Africa. You are a vital part of our team and a great source of strength and encouragement to all of us. May God richly bless you!
